Okey Ndibe is the author of the novels Foreign Gods, Inc. and Arrows of Rain, and co-editor (with Zimbabwean writer Chenjerai Hove) of Writers Writing on Conflicts and Wars in Africa. His memoir, Never Look an American in the Eye: Flying Turtles, Colonial Ghosts, and the Making of a Nigerian-American, will be published in October, 2016.
He earned MFA and PhD degrees from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and has taught at Brown University, Trinity College, Simon’s Rock College, and the University of Lagos (as a Fulbright scholar). He is the 2015 Shearing Fellow of the Black Mountain Institute (BMI) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he is writing a novel titled Native Tongues.
He has written for the New York Times, Hartford Courant, BBC online, Al Jazeera online, The Guardian (UK), Financial Times, D La Repubblica (Italy), The World & I, and Fabian Society Journal.
